It seems that at Lancaster, IT has been a lot more involved with the security and camera system.
There is a small vendor that has installed (and presumably manages) the camera equipment. Several DVRs from them are mounted on a rack in the server room. Brian McQueen is working on untangling this and transitioning over to the Coastal vendor.
There is a guard booth at the parking lot entrance that houses, a UPS, an ethernet extender, and a little unmanaged switch. I haven't been able to determine the exact architecture in there - perhaps the cameras connect wirelessly via that extender. According to Pam, this was set up by IT.
4/14/21: Several of the cameras that connect through that guard station are not working. Presumably there is a hardware failure somewhere in that setup. The D-Link switch reportedly was dead, so I've replaced it with a Netgear POE unmanaged switch, but I'm not getting any green LEDs on any of the cables that plug into it. -PS
4/15/21: The extender was for phone, not for wifi. Third Eye (vendor) was here last night and disconnected/cleaned up everything in the box except the extender (which seems like it's not needed for anything). I think the problem is with the cables. They don't look like they're in good shape.
Brian McQueen is coming over to look at the situation; he will let us know if he needs us to engage our vendor to get those cables looked at.
